Moroni2 was the son of Mormon. He was the last surviving Nephite and was, therefore, witness to the degradation and destruction of his people. Moroni2 contributed to the records by completing the book of Mormon, writing the book of Moroni, and abridging the Jaredite records, now called the book of Ether. In latter days, Moroni2 assisted in the restoration of the gospel by directing Joseph Smith where to find the Book of Mormon record and later allowing him to retrieve it.
